About Pride in July
I started Pride in July during my first year of owning Secondaries Boutique here at the Promenade on 6. As a local queer woman, I wanted to create something that felt intentional and fun; a space where people could come together, feel comfortable being themselves, and find community.
What began as a small event has grown each year. This is now the fourth annual Pride in July. The first two years were daytime markets, last year we expanded to include both a day and night event, and this year we’re bringing everything into one evening experience: Pride in July: After Hours.
At its core, this event is about creating space, highlighting queer-owned and allied businesses, and giving people a place to gather, shop, and exist as they are.
We’ll have a curated mix of vendors, artists, makers, food, and interactive elements throughout the night. Some familiar faces and some new ones - all contributing to what makes this event so special.
This is my favorite event I host every year, and it truly gets better each time. I’m so excited for what this year is shaping up to be.
If you’ve been before, we'd love to see you again! And if you haven’t, I’d love for you to experience it this year. This year's event is both indoors and outdoors, open to all ages and allies, with designated 21+ areas (one inside, one out).
